Which cert are we after?

From what I gather, there is not a "MCP" certification but there are several that fall under that category.

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS),
Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD),
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP),
Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA).

My guess is that we are after the MCITP, but does anybody know for sure?

From what I was reading on the Microsoft Website yesterday I think that is the cert we are going for in this quarter.

Last time I talked to Gulick he said that MCP is really no more, and next quarter is the MCTIP (MCSA) so I'm not exactly sure what the MCP will transfer to ...?

hooray for outdated certs before you even get them.

What exactly does that mean? does that mean that employers won't be looking for the cert anymore, but rather the new one? Is it pointless to even take the test?
