Well, im done being stupid

After my EPIC FAIL in mcp, I bought a Cooler Master 690. Now I know the Haf is better and its what ive been drooling over, but its more than twice the price of the 690 and its larger. Anyway, the 690 is still a steal for $70 and I have always wanted another one. Heres the case for those that arent familiar with it.

That's the only reason why I am not bringing my home computer into class.

Actually, I spoke with Mr. Guilick last night and he said if I bring it in he would help me gut it and put all the good stuff into my school computer cause I wanted to get rid of the home one. (After all, why have 2? I am not on the computer at home when I am in class, so why not?)

Anyway, at least he had a spare you could work on! That is always a good thing, right?

Yes actually I did know it wouldn't work with a floppy. But I had no idea we were going to be using the archaic devise. But that's just another part of the larger FAIL that is my life, lol.

At least your phails were hardware based, my phails were based on my own inability to slow down and think things through, this is crap I know and I screwed it up. go me.

As for your case... are you planning on doing any mods to it or are you going to leave it like it is? I don't have a link just yet, but they do have replacement parts for the haf and I recall you saying its about the same size.. if thats so, you could come out with a custom "half haf".

lol. The only real modding I have thought about so far is a window on the side panel. And in that case they sell side panels with windows already on them so its not even really modding. If I find a side panel from a haf I might just have to try it though.

They have the security window and all of the fans and what not. I hate to say it but the security window is the biggest selling point for me with the haf. Ill find the link and post it later. Don't have the time right now. Im on my phone right so it's the equivalent of a 56k modem. Yay.

The security window is nice. But its the whole package that does it for me. The entire thing screams BAD A$$

Im not too fond of the front panel. It looks kinda generic. Outside of that it is bad @$$

im sorry man, but the front panel looks cheap and in my opinion doesnt fit the rest of the case.. I can however appreciate the filters, but thats about it.

You are seriously going to sit there and tell me that, that front panel fits with the rest of the "fort knox" case that looks like it would kill you if you were trying trying to breach the perimeters?
No, it doesn't, it looks like a cheap fan thrown on a (for the most part) plain front panel and front panel jacks thrown into one of the spare bays (ala my navigator front panels).

So I maintain, the Front panel does not fit the case.
Hell, for that matter, I think your 690's front panel and fan looks less generic than the HAF's.

Unfortunantly, the side panels will not fit on the 690. The dimensions are slightly off.

The haf is 22.7" x 9" x 21.5" where the 690 is 20.7" x 8.4" x 19".

With that being said, it would save you a little bit of money by just modding the 690's case instead of actually going with the side panels.

I think I MIGHT get the HAF, still debating!

Im still trying to decide between the El Diablo Advanced and the Armour+..
At this point, im leaning more towards the arour plus. My original plan to modify that VHS camcorder case isn't going to fare well, so im scrapping the idea.

First good idea youve had in months I say get the Cosmos. That way I can have the original(690), you can have the sequel(cosmos), and Cy can have the ugly duckling cross mix borg baby love child(haf).
