Hello World!

Hello fellow students. My name is Caleb and I just started the Fundamentals of electronics class and I am an IT student. I have taken A+ and some Cisco classes at Butler Co. I have worked a few tech positions and some help desk. I just need to get back into school so I can refresh some information and pass my certs. I have built my fair share of systems for myself and others. I do some computer repairs and virus removal from the side of my "real" job as a bartender. I have also spent 7 years as a cook and I am married with two children.

Welcome to the forums and the school. Sounds like you already have a leg up compared to most that enter the halls. I would wish you luck but it doesn't sound like you need it.

Well lets just hope I make it through this fundamentals class first. I have experience with PCs but not with Electronics and ohms and resistors and God only knows what else. especially the math...I suck at math, but it seems like they go pretty slow and start from the beginning with everything. Lol. I can just see the first day of A+"Ok class, now this is what we call a motherboard." And also we will see how things go when I get to the Security+ class.

A+ was great, but they start you off kind of slow, oddly, it's best advised that you stay on course with the class instead of getting ahead because a lot of the little insignificant stuff that you think is trivial is actually what they expect you to know.

haha thanks. thats my fav M$ quote. Yeah its all those little trivial stuff that i need to relearn so i can get my A+ cert, and thats prob why i missed A+ core exam by 5 points when i tried to take it in High school how ever long ago lol. Damn the printers and scsi drives.

Good luck with The Padge its a tuff but fun class wait till one of the last labs its a 8itch.....lol
